It has been forever since I have written. Forgive me. This can largely be blamed on two things:
1. I draw all day for work. Being busy with work is a huge plus! Working freelance can be feast or famine. The downside of being busy with work is that the thought of making more drawings after work can be… well… meh.
2. My husband and I are in the process of adoption! This process has kept us very busy. We just finished all the paperwork, home study, and last but not least, our profile book!
Perhaps I will write in more depth about our adoption journey at a later date but before this year draws to a close I thought I would share some of the fruits of our labor. As a part of the open domestic adoption process we made a profile book for expectant parents to look at so they can get to know us. It took a fair amount of time to make- turns out it’s tricky summing your life up in 16 pages.
It was a joy to make it together. I felt like every picture, description, doodle and moment that made it into this book was a documentation of the many blessings God has given us over the years. It is a pretty honest snapshot of our lives right now. It also reminded me how much I like collaborating on artistic projects with my husband. We actually met in art school! Go figure.
Now we begin… the wait. We are trusting God’s timing and are trying to stay in the present moment while we prepare. If for some reason you would like to know more about us after looking at this book, you can access our online profile here.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a blessed 2015!
