“Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” -Matthew 9:20-21
This moment in Scripture is very raw and familiar to me lately. At a macro level, I sometimes think the whole world is constantly in this moment. But at a more personal level I have been stuck in this moment for about three years. It is good for me to appreciate the moments in scripture where the people involved did not know the end of the story yet. Because I am familiar with alot of these stories from my youth I tend to rush through them to the payoff, the miracle, the big point. But this story has a moment before she touches his cloak. And that’s kinda where I’m at these days.
